This small silver-plated pitcher has long since retired from the tea table, and it's better for it. The wide open mouth and sturdy weighted base make it a natural for a few stems of ranunculus or a single garden rose, the kind of arrangement that looks like it happened by accident. A beaded border runs along both the rim and the foot, and the cast handle is fully sculpted with scrollwork, a curved acanthus leaf at the shoulder, and a ball finial at the top. The spout is flanked by matching acanthus flourishes, giving the whole piece a formal confidence that sits beautifully against softer, more organic things.
