Vintage Glidden Pottery Bowl, Aqua Two-Tone Glaze

A Glidden Pottery bowl in a two-tone reactive glaze that shifts from pale aqua at the base to a mottled, speckled indigo blue at the rim. The glaze has depth to it — the darker top edge breaks up unevenly against the lighter body in a way that looks different in every light. Wide, low, oval form; works as a planter, a fruit bowl, or a vase for a loose arrangement. Marked "Glidden / 39" on the unglazed base — shape 39 in their catalog. Glidden Pottery operated out of Alfred, New York from 1940 to 1957, and their pieces are actively collected.
