A Fenton jadeite hobnail compote in the classic opaque jade green milk glass the brand is known for. Hobnail texture covers the exterior bowl and base, with a scalloped crimped rim. The interior is fitted as a flower frog, with multiple stem holes arranged around a central hole, making it as functional as it is decorative. Fenton's jadeite hobnail pieces are among their most collected, and this is a particularly pretty example of the form. Patent number visible on the base alongside the Fenton #3872 mark. Also made to hold thin taper candles.
